Am a bit surprised that nobody has come up with any answers on the song-lyrics-quiz yet. Most of these are pretty easy. Nonetheless, just to tie up loose ends (and, as you know, I am all in favour of tying things up), here are the answers for the film-quotes quiz:

1. "Right, right. Somebody said "alien" she thought they said "illegal alien" and signed up!" (Okay, so that one was easy: "Aliens". So damn quotable.)

2. "You will not be saved by the false God Plutonium - You will not be saved by the false God Uranium - in fact YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED!" "Prince of Darkness"

3. "Are they all this powerful on Planet Earth?"  "Plan 9 from outer space" Clearly none of you used to listen to Simon Mayo on Radio 1.

4. "You've been exploding frogs again." "The reflecting skin" Very odd film with gorgeous pictures.

5. "If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, then you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth."
None more goth. "Jacob's Ladder"

6. "Care for a little necrophilia, hmm?" [livejournal.com profile] carnaaki Hang your head in shame. It is of course from the undisputed Gilliam-masterpiece "Brazil"

7. "Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash." "Con Air"

8. "Don't expect it to tango; it has a broken back." Herbert West, "Re-animator" doing what he does with Rufus, the cat.

9. "So eager to play, so reluctant to admit it." The king of subtle threats, Pinhead in "Hellraiser II: Hellbound" . Don't expect Chuck Norris.

10. "Can you fly, Bobby?" Kurtwood Smith aka Clarence Boddicker shortly before making use of a wounded colleague in "RoBoCop". They did not come more menacing than him in the Eighties.

11. "I have just narrowly avoided having a buggering, and have come in here with the express intention of wishing one upon you." "Withnail and I"

12. "Kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri!" The terrifying finale of "Audition".

Correct. (Well, what is actually on my computer is the Michael Andrews/Gary Jules-version, but Tears for Fears is, of course, the original)
