Walker's winged monkey
I have to admit that
carnaaki appealed to my ambition with his little quiz-thing and that's why I have decided to do one of my own. But, as my knowledge is by far not as encyclopedic as his, this is bound to be reasonably easy. Especially as the more gothically inclined amongst you might recognize the odd bit used in a song.
So, here goes, I pass the mic to the Chris Tarrant of Hell:
Name the films these lines come from AND just to prove you aren't cheating and looking them up online, provide the context of THE SCENE from which they come (as in "Just as Dirty Harry is about to shoot him" or "the bit where Mr Pink, Mr Blue and Mr Orange are in a Mexican Standoff and Mr Blue is watching"). Extra Kudos if you can provide following lines/character names or other such trivia (Cheating is punishable by blood-eagle).
(EDIT: So far only Carnaaki has come up with correct answers, but at least he did come up with a lot of them. 8-) For most of these quotations we are still looking for context, though.)
1. "Right, right. Somebody said "alien" she thought they said "illegal alien" and signed up!" (Okay, so that one was easy: "Aliens". Quote the next two lines off the top of your head for bonus points.)
2. "You will not be saved by the false God Plutonium - You will not be saved by the false God Uranium - in fact YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED!" "Prince of Darkness"
3. "Are they all this powerful on Planet Earth?"
4. "You've been exploding frogs again."
5. "If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, then you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth."
Yes, you've heard it in a song, but where is it from? "Jacob's Ladder" . And who said it?
6. "Care for a little necrophilia, hmm?"
7. "Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash." "Con Air"
8. "Don't expect it to tango; it has a broken back." Herbert West, "Re-animator" doing what he does with Rufus, the cat.
9. "So eager to play, so reluctant to admit it." The king of subtle threats, Pinhead in "Hellraiser II: Hellbound" . Don't expect Chuck Norris.
10. "Can you fly, Bobby?"
11. "I have just narrowly avoided having a buggering, and have come in here with the express intention of wishing one upon you." "Withnail and I" Context?
12. "Kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri!" The terrifying finale of "Audition".
