Book geek joy

And as if I didn't know already that Neil Gaiman is just unbelievably fantastic, I now find out that, when in Germany, he entertains himself by making up poems about Martin Semmelrogge.
I need to do that, instead of just grinning like a loonie and going "Der Wasserdruck".
On a similarly geeky note, I just love the way they designed "The ladies of Grace Adieu" to look like a hand-bound antique volume, all uneven pages and thick pages. That is nearly as fantastic as the way they used format in "House of Leaves".

Oh, oh, oh, and it would appear that Iain Banks has a new book out. But then, I haven't even gotten around to reading "The Algebraist" yet. On the other hand, I have given in to my old vice again and picked up cheap copies of "Canal Dreams" and "Consider Phlebas", which should keep me quiet for a little while.

I'm sorry, but does that sound familiar to anybody? ;-P

"The poem tells how a force of 300 picked warriors were assembled, some from as far afield as Pictland and Gwynedd. After a year of feasting at Din Eidyn, now Edinburgh, they attacked Catraeth, which is usually considered to be Catterick, North Yorkshire. After several days of fighting against overwhelming odds, only one of the warriors returned alive."

Read all about it: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/9842

There just aren't any new stories (there's just Christopher Lambert).

If you want to entertain me, why don't you re-dub the trailer in Valleys dialect?

Okay, NOW I'm impressed

I knew that she spoke German, but still, wasn't prepared for that:
Sandra Bullock receives a Bambi.
